Let's build resilience

Resilience is an important trait for our success and happiness in life. The only way we can build resilience is by learning from our challenges in life and bouncing back and becoming stronger.

No one is is exempt from challenges in tough times – life happens to all of us. But it's how we deal with these challenges that define us.

It is great to be reconnecting with everyone again as I have had the past five years in a hiatus as I was navigating my way through Lyme disease, going overseas for treatment and then in recovery mode.

It was a real test of my resilience and there was some pretty dark times as my life was tipped upside down, everything changed as I knew it and I was having to navigate a new path. The fear of not knowing if I would ever recover was a very scary place to be in.

Sophia Institute in Seattle with their exceptional doctors, staff and their treatment protocols was the beginning of my journey back to health.

Following on from a pandemic seemed like a good time to dust myself off, step up, push past my comfort zone and get back fully into my business and life.

I learnt a lot of lessons and one was never to take your health for granted as I never thought I would have ended up in this situation.

The choices I make every day are always from a health first perspective and all the philosophies and strategies that I have taught over the years in my coaching and training business has become essential for me to practice daily to maintain my health and well-being.

My daily rituals of meditation, exercise, healthy eating, self-care, taking time out for fun and minimising stress are so important to me.

An important aspect of building resilience is getting out of your comfort zone, taking risks and learning from past experiences.

It's also about finding your personal strength and courage when life gets tough.

What does resilience mean to you?
